Oh yes. We did. And it was TACKY!!!

Our Foster to Adopt Journey

November 8, 2009 - Orphan Sunday day at our church - the day Mike and I really felt like God was calling us to start the adoption process NOW.

December 3, 2009 - Information meeting with DHS to learn about fostering to adopt. Received initial paperwork

December 31, 2009 - Initial visit from DHS to our home in prep for training. Turned in initial paperwork.

February 15, 2010 - Began 27 hour training process required by the state to foster/adopt through DCFS.

March 18, 2010 - Finished training classes at MidSouth.

March 24, 2010 - Our 9 year anniversary - TB skin tests for the whole family and physicals for Mike, Rachel, and Porter

March 25, 2010 - Home Study

May 10, 2010 - We're officially open as a foster home and waiting for our first child...

***after going through Adopt Only for a while and having God completely shut the door to a case in May 2011, we were reopened as a foster home on September 23rd.

September 30, 2011 - We have our first foster placement! A 9 month old baby boy!

April 3, 2013 - After having our first foster placement for just over 18 months, we were able to legally adopt Grady James Langham!
